Fundamentals Basketball Academy Fall Session
Through one hour of fundamental instruction each week participants will have the opportunity to learn and/or improve on fundamental skills in ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defense. During academy league play each week participants will have the opportunity to utilize those improved skills during game action.
Academy Format
One night per week for 7 weeks
Boys - Monday nights beginning September 8th
Girls - Tuesday nights beginning September 9th
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
For Boys and Girls in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades
$105 per participant
First Hour - Fundamental Instruction with qualified professional instructors. Concentration on Shooting, Ball-Handling, Rebounding and Defense.
Second Hour - Academy League play. Each participant will be on an academy team that will be coached by one of our professional instructors. Participants will have the opportunity to play in two 20 minute games each week.

Basketball Academy Instructors
Rosie Hall - Rosie attended Central Missouri State University where she led her team to three consecutive visits to the NCAA Division II Final Four and a National Championship in 1984. While at CMSU Rosie won numerous awards including NCAA Division II Player of the Year in 1985, First Team Kodak All-American in 1985, MIAA Conference Most Valuable Player in 1985 and CMSU Outstanding Women's Athlete of the Year in 1985. Rosie has coaching experience as an Assistant Coach at Indiana University, Purdue University, University of South Carolina, locally at Fort Osage High School and currently coaches an area 4th grade boys competitive team.
Kyle Taylor - Kyle just finished his 1st season as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at William Jewell College under the tutelage of Coach Larry Holley. In his first year at Jewell, the Cardinals finished 20-13 and advanced to the Championship Game of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Post-Season Tournament. Three members of the Jewell basketball team garnered post-season honors including one 2nd team all-conference, one 3rd team & one honorable mention. In addition to his duties as the recruiting coordinator, Taylor is also the defensive coach, responsible for opponent scouting and game preparation, and is in charge of the entire off-season program including individual work-outs, agility and strength development, and conditioning. Prior to coming to Jewell in the summer of 2007, Taylor served as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Director of Basketball Operations at Cal State Northridge (an NCAA Division I program in Los Angeles , CA ) during the 2006-2007 season. Taylor also served as the Video Coordinator at Pepperdine University (an NCAA Division I program in Malibu , CA ) during the 2005-2006 season under Coach Paul Westphal.
Jeff Bass - Jeff was a 1988 graduate of Fort Osage High School where he received 1st team All-Conference, All-Area Honorable Mention and Fort Osage Senior Basketball Player of the Year honors following the 1987-88 season. During an outstanding senior season Jeff led his team in Scoring (13.0 ppg), Rebounds (9.7 rpg) and Assists (3.8 apg). He also set single season school records for points in a half (21) and rebounds in a game (20). Jeff signed with Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO where he played his freshman year and led the Junior Varsity team in Scoring (17.6 ppg) and Rebounding (8.2 rpg). After sitting out a year due to transfer rules Jeff played his final two years at Avila College in Kansas City, MO. In a solid senior campaign he led the team in Field Goal Percentage (58.9%), was 4th in Scoring (9.2 ppg), 2nd in Rebounding (6.8 rpg) and was awarded the "Sister Ann Dominic" Hustle Award. Jeff has over 15 years of experience coaching and instructing young players. He brings a passion for helping young athletes master the skills necessary to improve in the game of basketball.
Mike Titus - Mike was a 1984 graduate of Truman High School where he was selected to the All-Conference and All-Area Honorable Mention Teams. He went on to play 2 seasons at Kemper Junior College in Booneville, Missouri where he was selected to the All-Conference Team as well as the All-Region 16 Team. Mike finished his collegiate career at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri where he graduated in 1990. Mike has over 30 years of playing experience as well as 10+ years of experience coaching and instructing the proper fundamentals of the game to youth players.
